Head of Policy and Standards

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Commercial Head of Policy and Standards, Vistra office. This is a full-time and permanent position is based in Singapore and reporting to the Head of Customer Onboarding.


Key responsibilities:


Policy creation and implementation

  • Work with Compliance to create a set of Globally applicable Policies, with local uplifts (where appropriate) that are aligned to the organisations’ risk appetite and commercial footprint.
  • Act as primary liaison between Compliance & Business/Operations to provide input into KYC + Onboarding Policy and Standards drafting
  • Work with Compliance to create and manage a risk appetite framework that is aligned to the Commercial strategy of the organisation.
  • Lead the initial implementation activities for these policies and develop an approach to subsequent changes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders internally & externally to drive a common understanding of KYC and Onboarding Policies and Standards.
  • Proactive engagement of the Business Unit Heads and Operations teams as key stakeholders in the implementation of policy changes.
  • Act as a single point of contact for interfacing between Compliance & regions/countries on queries related to the interpretation of KYC and Onboarding Policies and Standards.

Continuous improvement of KYC + Onboarding processes

  • Work closely with Business Unit Heads and Operations leads to continuously enhance the quality of the guidance issued based on feedback and thematic issues identified through the Quality Assurance processes.
  • Work with Operations to develop a data lead approach to process analytics, using evidence to drive assessments of the effectiveness of Policies and Standards.
  • Work closely with the Systems team to identify areas of potential automation.

Business Unit Training

  • Work with Compliance to develop training plans and materials across the value chain and prepare teams to implement and support updates to relevant policies.
  • Collaborate with Operations Teams to provide the required support in assessing training needs, design & delivery of technical training.

Key requirements:

  • At least 10 years of proven experience developing, interpreting & applying AML policy and guidance in the context of a KYC process within a Global organisation.
  • Experience developing and implementing risk-based policies that account for commercial realities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Anti Money Laundering Regulations and their application across a Globally dispersed organisation.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with Compliance, Commercial and Operations stakeholders by communicating, influencing, and negotiating effectively.
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders. Ability to influence senior staff and offshore shared services teams to drive change agenda.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills in networking, influencing and decision taking.
