Biostatistician
- Design of research studies in collaboration with doctors and other researchers
- Analyse data using statistical approaches
- Detailing of analysis plans, descriptions of analyses and findings for research protocols, research manuscripts or reports, including statistical power or sample size calculations.
- Oversee, design and manage research databases in NSC
- Co-lead research projects and submit ethics approval where appropriate
- Provide educational talks for Doctors and Researchers
- Work with Department of Sexual Transmitted Infection (STI) Control on the following:
o a. Supervise health advisors on extraction of relevant data from medical records and national STI records for monitoring and trending of STI statistics
o b. Work with executives to generate reports on STI statistics for MOH and WHO reporting
o c. Work with executives on setting up STI databases using the new generation computer system
o d. Develop research protocols that can answer epidemiological questions on STI rates, especially with regard to treatment, prevention and educational programmes, including submission for ethics approval, as guided by Head of Department
Requirement
• Minimum qualification of Master’s Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics, preferably with working experience in Biostatistics and database management, and, a track record of publications.
• Word processing and spreadsheet computer skills are essential and preferably with statistical software skills like SPSS
