Superscrypt is seeking a talented individual to fill the position of Fund Accountant and operations. As a Fund Accountant and operations team member, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our venture capital firm. In addition to the traditional fund accounting responsibilities, you will also be involved in various operational aspects of the business.
Superscrypt is an early stage crypto-native VC founded by global investment company Temasek and is independently managed. Our mission at Superscrypt is to onboard the next wave of builders and users into web3. We focus on investing in and partnering with category-defining web3 teams in the infrastructure and emerging use cases space, such as wallets, identity & credentials, developer tools, data indexing & search, scaling, and privacy. Backed by founders with extensive experience in building and scaling technology businesses, we provide our portfolio companies with expertise in GTM, product, technology, tokenomics, strategy, and community building.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling fund accounting and financial reporting, which includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as well as investor capital statements. Also acts as a liaison with both internal departments and external parties such as trustees, fund administrators, custodians, and auditors.
- Performs various investor relations activities such as managing capital calls, distributions, and responding to investor inquiries.
- Oversees the onboarding process for new investors and maintains relationships with existing investors.
- Supports the financial audit process and assists with tax filings.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assists with various fund operations, including cash management, investment tracking, and expense monitoring.
- Collaborates with team members to support investment due diligence and deal execution processes.
- Validates NAV, performance fees, trailer fees, expenses, and capital calls.
- Performs settlement and general fund administration tasks.
- Assists with setting up, analyzing, and reviewing fund structures, joint venture structures, and underlying inquiries.
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities may include overseeing general corporate secretarial duties such as company incorporation, board meetings, and corporate governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably in the venture capital industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of fund structuring, operations, and compliance.
- Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus.
