Senior Tandem Application Support - Merchant Services

As a Senior Application Support Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to develop professionally —and to grow your career in any direction you choose.


Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute the delivery of tandem applications changes; including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, maintaining, escalations and resolutions

• Ensure that production changes are aligned to best practices, lifecycle methodology and sound risk management

• Act as the face-off between the Business and Software Engineering team

• Draw on your experience to mentor junior members to drive strategic change, both within your team as well as in collaboration with the firm's global network of innovators.


Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relate disciplines

• Minimum 4 years of Application Support experience and exposure to software project lifecycle

• Hands-on experience working on mainframe TANDEM or HP NonStop platform (e.g. Guardian and OSS environment, COBOL, C, C++)

• Experience with Monitoring Tools such as Splunk, Netcool, Control M, Dynatrace, Prognosis

• Proven experience in drivig large scale problem and change management

• Ability to articulate strongly in verbal and written, with prior experience leading large conference calls

• Application Support is a teamsport so strong interpersonal skills is a must

• Proven experience in Problem Management, Change Management best practices.

• Ability to work independently as a self-starter and thrive in fast dynamic environment

• analytical mindset to drive identification of patterns/trends which would predict problematic situations..


Preferred Skills

• Experience using SQL

• Experience using Geneos

• Understanding of the payments/Acquiring business

• Domain experience in cards issuing or merchant acquisition
