Job description

Your responsibilities as LCI Specialist

Ramboll is part of an EPC project, where we are working as engineering contractor for the EPC contractor located in Singapore. The LCI Specialist will act as a representative for the engineering contractor during execution at their fabrication yard in the north of Singapore, during the fabrication of an offshore substation topside.


In your role as LCI Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for all LCI issues and activities and your primary focus will be the digital delivery of all technical information (documents, tags, metadata, 3D model) created for engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, mechanical completion (MC) and Start-up, are correct and updated continuously, throughout the fabrication and commissioing phase on site.


You shall delivered as per the project and LCI milestones and primarily responsible is to cross check, deliver and secure correct data quality in systems/data flow. This is achieved by maintaining and updating multidiscipline databases and facilitate LCI handover to Operations. This information is required to efficiently operate, maintain and modify the plant throughout its life cycle.


In doing so, you shall collaborate closely with representatives from the EPC contractor (Client), the engineering contractor (your back office), suppliers and other disciplines and representatives from the client as required and LCI follow on teams.


As such, in your role, you will:

  • Relocate to the fabrication yard and provide reliable information to the project manager regarding LCI updates.
  • Shall be integrated into the EPC engineering team.
  • Collaborate closely with the fabrication yard representatives, the engineering design office, client’s home office and other discipline representatives at the fabrication yard.
  • Interface between Site Construction and Interface Manager (IM) with regards to missing or additional data/documents required for construction.
  • Interface between Client’s design/engineering departments and IM in the event of site design adjustments to ensure the integrity of the relevant LCI data.
  • Facilitate site data acquisition for IM e.g., pulled cable lengths or physically checking a piece of equipment to acquire missing vendor attributes.
  • Where required, liaise and coordinate LCI inputs, potential changes and tasks with suppliers, EPC Contractor and other disciplines.
  • Interface between commissioning/Operations and IM in regard to facilitating data requests etc.
  • Support the process for the update of records for any re-tagging undertaken on site, supporting handover and close out activities.
  • Handling of engineering indexes, cross references, 3D CAD and
  • Coordinate or action LCI digital delivery tasks as needed during execution.


You and your competencies

You must have a result-oriented, proactive and systematic approach to your work. You enjoy working both independently and together with co-workers from both the engineering team and the EPC team thus experience in both design and installation/commissioning is preferred and other parties being engaged during the execution. Teamwork is essential to achieve results.


Your competencies:

  • have a diploma or degree in engineering.
  • have experience in offshore engineering – preferably with offshore substation design and installation/commissioning – with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • have a thorough understanding of Engineering databases and packages
  • must be competent in documentation registers, transmitting of documents and maintaining revision status of deliverables
  • must be competent in document and tag numbering systems
  • knowledgeable in data collection / capturing and data delivery mechanisms via various portals
  • knowledge of engineering packages (i.e., AVEVA 3D and engineering databases, MIPs etc) is an advantage.
  • have experience with typical OSS interfaces from design phase to procurement, vendors, shop preparations, materials, installation, layout, safety, cable routing, equipment tagging, numbering & marking, testing, and quality.
  • be familiar with standard OSS component vendors.
  • be familiar with the discipline interfaces and integration to other disciplines and systems.
  • speak and write English fluently.
  • have excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical information.

We represent a strong group of Project Controllers with comprehensive experience in Project Engineering and design. The current position is working as the engineering contractor representative at a fabrication yard. A contract period of 1 year is currently foreseen with an estimated start on site from Q3 2024.
