As a Legal Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our organization's legal needs and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory and Compliance:
• Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues affecting the organization.
• Assist in ensuring company policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the company's operations.
Contract Drafting and Review:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and employment contracts.
• Work closely with business units to understand their contractual needs and provide solutions that mitigate legal risks.
Corporate Governance:
• Assist in corporate governance matters, including maintaining corporate records, preparing board meeting materials, and ensuring compliance with corporate formalities.
• Support the legal team in drafting corporate resolutions, bylaws, and other governance documents as needed.
Litigation Support and Risk Management:
• Assist in managing litigation matters, including gathering relevant documents, coordinating with external counsel, and preparing for legal proceedings.
• Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, collaborating with internal stakeholders to implement risk management initiatives.
Policy Development and Training:
• Participate in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
• Conduct legal training sessions for employees on relevant legal topics, compliance requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field (JD preferred).
• Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction is advantageous.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing law, preferably in a corporate or in-house legal environment.
• Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and provide practical solutions.
