Based in Tuas and reporting to the Manager, Purchasing, you will be an integral member of the procurement team.
Your key responsibilities shall include:
- Ensuring the prompt and accurate processing of purchase requisitions through the best means possible, while meeting delivery and budgetary targets.
- Regularly reviewing, refreshing and managing the shipyard’s vendors and subcontractors to ensure that deliverables are being met at all times.
- Pro-actively seeking out non-conventional supply chains and new providers of equipment, material and services.
- Ensure that the company’s policies and SOP’s are complied with at all times.
- Supporting the Commercial Department’s cost estimation and project planning processes.
Basic Requirements:
- Utmost integrity and honesty.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a similar capacity in the marine and offshore industry.
- Degree or Diploma in an engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Working knowledge in SAP preferred.
- Good leadership and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of working with large datasets.
- Good analytical and organizational skills, resourceful and meticulous.
- Effective communicator in written and spoken English.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Project.
