Responsibilities:
- Internally coordinate the legal onboarding of LNG desk counterparties including liaison amongst internal stakeholders and the internal review and implementation
- Manage the drafting, review and negotiation of transaction-specific confirmation notices against deadline, including tracking commercial terms, relevant counterparty agreement, and escalations as applicable (on the basis of legal templates)
- Supervise administrative team in the LNG desk-related documentation validation and execution process
- Complete legal aspects of pre-transaction documentation, including tender-related legal documentation (eg non-disclosure agreements, on the basis of legal templates)
- Identify non-standard / risk clauses and coordinate with the relevant internal stakeholders for review
- Create and keep updated and confirmation notice database of terms, precedents and templates
- Timely file and track contracts in the in-house database management software
- Act as a subject matter resource on template contracts, LNG counterparty-specific documentation formats, and house positions in particular regarding recurring legal, regulatory and drafting issues
- Participate in documentation and operational improvement projects, and integrate new tools to enhance overall processes (eg Snoop-e visa grid together with the administrative team)
- Interact with the LNG desk, middle office and the administrative team in order to be able to respond to and evaluate commercial requirements
- Follow and stay on top of the LNG business development
- Strictly adhere to and comply with the policies and codes
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years operations/commercial/contracts/legal experience in the oil and gas industry (LNG)
- Knowledge of global LNG markets and commercial contracts strongly preferred
- Strong coordination, negotiation and interpersonal skills (ability to work with a variety of internal departments)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent mathematical skills and ability to analyse large amounts of data
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and work to deadlines
- Ability to work without supervision, and in a multi-cultural trading environment
- Accurate and efficient working style with high attention to detail
- Adaptive to change, prepared to go the extra mile
- Sensitivity to confidentialities combined with good judgment
- Computer literacy: MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
- Fluent English essential. Spanish and/or French language skills a plus
