IDC (Internet Data Center) Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, cabling, and rack layouts.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data center infrastructure, including networking, power distribution, HVAC systems, and physical security.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and availability of data centers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and select appropriate equipment and solutions for data center needs.
  • Manage network capacity and bandwidth planning to meet current and future requirements.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect data center assets and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Participate in incident response activities and assist in resolving data center-related issues promptly.
  • Document network and data center configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data center engineering.

Requirements:

  • Diploma, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Data Center Engineer, or related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data center management tools and monitoring systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Data Center Networking Infrastructure Specialist (DCNI) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, virtualization technologies, and software-defined networking is desirable.
