Head of Department (Supply Chain Aerospace) | East

Reporting directly to the CEO and HQ Corporate Director , you will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading all supply chain activities of the site (inventories, procurement, repair scheduling, logistics, S&OP), with the aim of reducing costs and lead times, while increasing productivity. You will be responsible for the site’s overall supply chain practices and processes. You will manage a team of procurement officers logistics team managers, logistics officers, schedulers and S&OP manager

Has responsibility for the development, continual optimization of supply chain initiatives.

This position will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for Supply Chain. This role requires adherence to the Group principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

This position works closely with the central supply chain team to ensure the due application of the CSS Supply Chain strategy, recommendations and standards


Your objectives and tasks:

  • Guarantee that the customer’s needs are met while respecting safety, quality, costs, and delivery lead times.
  • Ensure the required transformations and manage change.
  • Provide a vision and uniting the teams around the entity’s challenges.
  • Organise the teams to encourage multidisciplinary contributions, autonomy, accountability, and cross-functionality with the aim of being agile and adaptable to operational contingencies and customer needs.
  • Ensure that skills and resources are maintained at the highest level within the expanded scope.
  • Ensure the accessibility and quality of data, within your scope.
  • Guarantee the use and compliance with reference systems.
  • Manage the scheduler(s) in developing repair schedules for all the production lines
  • Ensure that repair schedules are properly implemented and adapt them
  • Adapte repair schedules to match workload/capacity
  • Manage the procurement officer(s), to apply the stock policy and define the inventory parameters levels and supply products from suppliers (external and internal) in accordance with needs in terms of quantities and lead time to ensure the availability of components for all repairs orders
  • Manage all logistics flows (incoming, internal, and outgoing), including line-side supply
  • Manage the S&OP manager to run the site’s S&OP process

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Managerial Focus / organising the activity:

  • Maintaine a working environment that complies with HSE requirements and ensure the safety of the teams working under your responsibility
  • Translate the guidelines and objectives of the site for your scope of responsibility into SQCDP (Safety – Quality – Cost – Delivery – People) operational objectives in line with the site’s other departments and Supply Chain standards
  • Ensure that Site’s inventory, procurement, scheduling, logistics activities are performed properly
  • Manage and plan resources workload/capacity by anticipating requirements associated with production ramp up rates, workload peak or reduction
  • Identify training needs, define training plans to ensure the development of the team, and contribute to employee career management
  • Implement effective communication within the team by ensuring communication routines to maintain a good social climate
  • Promote the principles of the leadership model

Inventories / Procurement

  • Ensure that the stock policy is properly applied
  • Accountable to achieve inventory budgets (define short- and long-term actions to ensure compliance with budget)
  • Accountable to establish inventories rolling forecast (3 months)
  • Analyze monthly inventories and work-in-process results
  • Accontable for inventory parameters levels
  • Monitor the piece parts availability
  • Guarantee the procurement of parts from the Business Units (BUs) and external suppliers in the required quantities, within the lead-time, and in compliance with quality rules and economic objectives (including subcontracting orders
  • Apply standard process, follow the KPIs and use the standard tools to manage the activity
  • Follow the suppliers performances

Repair scheduling:

  • Guarantee the availability of repair planning by scheduling all Work Orders according to customer priorities and the availability of piece parts and manpower
  • Analyse the workshop’s internal performance in terms of OTD (MOTD) and identify actions for improvement

Logistics:

  • Ensure the continuity of all aspects of logistics for the site by guaranteeing the completion of all physical flows (incoming, internal, outgoing, including line-side deliveries) from the receipt of components or raw materials to the shipment of finished products to Customers (receipt, shipping, and storage of piece parts, raw materials, and repaired customer equipment)
  • Ensure the proper coordination and administrative organisation of the receipt and shipping of customer equipment
  • Monitor and improve the storage of components, Materials, semi-finished and finished good and specify the size of storage capacities to meet the site’s requirements
  • Ensure compliance with instructions, standards, legislation and regulations applicable to storage, shipping and customs operations
  • Ensure that inventories are counted correctly and accurately
  • Ensure that customs operations are completed in compliance with the regulations, report to them and act as the designated contact person for inspections, bonds and powers of attorney
  • Manage economic regimes for imports and exports, so that the company’s activity can be reported to the authorities at any time, and manage the export declaration process

S&OP :

  • Ensure the execution of the site’s Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) process (Customer demand review, Internal supply review, External supply review, Inventory policy, S&OP Review)

Ensuring compliance with standards and improving them:

  • Apply safety and operating standards
  • Update standards by proposing improvements
  • Manage and participate in improvement projects

Knowledge of the aviation environment (Part 145, Part 21)

Master degree with a specialization in Industrial organisation and/or Supply Chain Management.
