Skill: Snowflake Architect
Experience: 7+ Years
Location: Singapore
Project Objectives:
- Modernize the existing legacy data platform for Multiple Line of business for a large retail chain in the QBR business
- Standardize, design and implement the target architecture that can be operationalized and implemented across the lines of businesses for the customer
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Project related Responsibilities:
- Analyse, document existing data architecture across the lines of businesses in scope
- Interact with the appropriate SMEs to gather the relevant information around the data flow, data storage and data consumption
- Validate, enhance or contribute to creating the data warehouse data model
- Design the target state data architecture covering the key data domains (Data ingestion, Data integration/Transformation, Data Quality, Data Security, Data Consumption)
- Contribute to the high level and low-level design not limited to documentation but contribute to the design and code of key technical components of the architecture (Common Libraries, complex modules, standard modules etc)
- Review of the key code components developed
- Work with the key stakeholders and customers and internal to add value to the project deliverables
- Short term travels across the Globe for project needs
Practice related Responsibilities:
- Mentor and train junior members of the team
- Contribute to the technical solution and estimation of the requirements for the project and other RFPs
- Contribute to the practice via blogs, technical utilities, training and mentoring for the clan mates
- Continual upkeep of technical trends related to the practice
- Represent the practice in customer forums, technical forums, client presentations as appropriate
Core Skills - Must Have:
- Strong Analytical and Design skills specifically focusing on Data architecture
- Strong understanding of Data lake and Data warehouse architectures
- Must have worked as a Data architect in at least 1 large project (project that is more than 6-8 months)
- Demonstrated experience of designing a data warehouse/ data lake for at least 1 project
- Strong understanding of the latest architecture design patterns as lake warehouses, medallion architecture, ( Bronze, Silver,Gold) design
- Strong design experience of warehouses ( EDW and/or Data marts)
- Demonstrated experience of data modelling included not limited to creating/ enhancing data models
- Must have demonstrated experience of warehouse and data architecture design(Data Engineering, Data storage, Data Consumption at a minimum)
Technical Skills - Must have:
- Must be an expert at SQL (ANSI). Strong understanding of SQL functions, SQL concepts. At least 5 years of SQL experience is a must
- Must have a solid understanding and demonstrated project experience in 1 or more data domains using Python, Spark, Spark SQL
- Solid at Snowflake. Must have demonstrated experience of at least 2 years on Snowflake projects from designing the snowflake data platform, implementation Snowflake features
- Must have strong understanding of Snowflake features as Data sharing, Snow-park, Snowtasks, SnowInsights, Snowflake market place, technical connectors
- Must have implemented a Snowflake based data warehouse architecture for at least 1 project or
- Must have migrated from a legacy data warehouse / data lake environment to Snowflake
- Strong understanding of AWS services including not limited to AWS data services
- Strong understanding of EDW data models, Data marts including concepts such as SCDs, facts, dimensions, business keys, surrogate keys etc
- Snowflake pro certification
Other skills - nice to have:
- AWS certifications - Solutions architect or Data specialty
- Snowflake advanced certification
- Good understanding of agile delivery methodologies
- Good understanding of estimation techniques
- Data modelling experience for Retail and QBR domains
