The Role
Working with an industry market leader and alongside a highly dedicated team, the Field Service Technician will report to the Service Manager and Field Service Manager. The role will provide strong technical and maintenance support for our customers by performing planned maintenance or non-scheduled repairs in a professional manner for mechanical battery electric and internal combustion lift trucks.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Report to the Service Manager and Field Service Manager regarding on-site repairs and/or maintenance calls and update daily on-site job cards.
- Complete a minimum average number of site calls per day.
- Coordinate with customers on site arrival, departure, truck service availability, and ensure that lift trucks are operating well before leaving the site; ensure that necessary work are completed satisfactorily before seeking customers' acknowledgement on the service job cards.
- Maintain an accurate record of all travel and worked hours for each job using the assigned tablets.
- Maintain the service van condition according to Company standards and ensure scheduled maintenance is carried out on the service van.
- Maintain tools and equipment according to the company standard and report any breakages or loss of tools promptly.
- Replenish and maintain service van inventory to the specific and appropriate levels.
- Participate in and conduct an accurate count during a van stock-take and provide accurate daily cycle count data.
- Ensure that on-site work safety requirements are complied with at all times.
- Understand daily work targets, completed jobs and/or sales of parts.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects or training matrix evaluations, when necessary.
- Perform a reasonable amount of overtime work to support business/customers' needs, when necessary.
The Right Fit:
- Nitec/NTC-2/3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering studies
- At least 2 years of working experience in maintenance repair and overhaul in industrial machinery or material handling equipment (lift trucks)
- Good working knowledge in electrical/mechanical aptitude or electro-hydraulic equipment will be advantageous.
- Experienced in customer service will be advantageous.
- Possess strong communication skills and proactiveness to resolve technical issues.
- Must hold a valid Class 3 driving license to drive the assigned service van for field work. Candidates with no driving license will be considered for workshop technician positions.
