The role of the Associate is to contribute to the day-to-day management of the Studio and lead the Project team delivery of projects. A resourceful and flexible approach is required to manage multiple projects' workflow and delivery. The Associate must be able to multi-task, demonstrate initiative, and self-motivation, and be proactive in the best interest of the Company. The position requires a solid understanding of passive and active green design principles, design/project management capability, sector-specific track record, organisational skills, and teamwork in a fast-paced creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Principal to conceptualise design solutions and strategies
- Coordinate with Client team, project manager, consultants, and vendors
- Interface with Clients to manage expectations whilst seeking new opportunities
- Conduct site visits/inspections relating to design briefing, project technical coordination, and review
- Oversee coordination and quality standard of presentations, specifications, drawings, and FF&E packages
- Manage and review the production, e-filing, and archiving of document sets
- Manage the overall project delivery process (ie. developing the scope of services and deliverables, resource planning, schedule and budgets, invoicing, and fee collection)
- Assist to evaluate and prepare fee proposals, tenders, RFPs, design competitions, and pitches
- Active participation at events, conferences, and related business development activities
- Initiate business development, provide monthly updates, and follow up on new contacts
- Consult with Senior Management on the studio’s financial operations and organisation
- Lead the studio’s research and development activities
- Flexibility to travel throughout Southeast Asia as and when required
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Masters's degree in a related design field
- 8+ years of project experience in various project sectors and sizes
- Professional registration, affiliation, and/or other accreditation
- Sector-specific or academic research-specific knowledge
- Knowledge and experience in CAD and Revit preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and MS Office Suite and relevant 2D/3D software
- Excellent and persuasive verbal/written communication, leadership, organisation, and presentation skills
- Excellent problem-analysis and resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and/or lead an effective team
- Able to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility and management of operational duties
- Able to demonstrate initiative and proactive approach to prioritise daily tasks
- Able to cope with multiple demands while remaining professional at all times
- A desire to mentor team members and interns, offer guidance and leadership
- A flexible and open attitude toward new methods of collaboration
- An entrepreneurial spirit
