As a lead playgroup teacher, you will:
- Provide leadership to the team.
- Observe/ Supervise to ensure the programme is of a professional standard, is aligned with Mosaic’s play-inspired approach to learning, age-appropriate, and meets the needs of the children.
- Lead in developing, implement and evaluate a play-inspired developmentally appropriate programme for specific age groups.
- Prepare, implement, review, oversee and evaluate the Playgroup curriculum and ensure lesson plans are completed, updated, archived, and filed.
- Oversee the development/ creation of Playgroup handouts (if any) and maintain healthy, frequent and positive relationships with parents.
- Update MPA’s social media account (daily story updates + regular posts).
- Develop Playgroup parent handouts, where appropriate.
- Plan and structure learning interactive playspaces in both indoor and outdoor environments using a variety of materials and equipment to facilitate children’s development.
- Mentor and teach educators along with the supervisor through observations, guided discussions and recommendations for professional development on curriculum practices.
Working hours:
Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm
Saturdays, 9am - 12pm
Requirements:
- Preferably a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or Diploma in ECCE
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in early childhood
- Fluent in spoken and written English (to teach in English language and communicate with children and parents)
- Loves outdoor and nature play
- Able to work well independently as well as within a team
This is an onsite, full time position.
