The Children and Youth Group (CYG) in The Salvation Army Singapore serves hundreds of vulnerable children and youth yearly. In line with our vision to provide a continuum of care to uplift those in need, our services span from preventive services, foster care and residential services to reunification support services for vulnerable children returning to their natural families after being removed due to safety concerns. RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a dynamic Social Work manager who has a deep belief in the potential of vulnerable children, youth and families. You will be overseeing and guiding a team of social workers to provide excellent and transformative support to the vulnerable children and youth in residential care and their families. You will also oversee social work practice for Youth Development Centre and incubation social work services. You will need to have excellent administration skills as you will need to oversee your team to ensure that Standards of Care, licensing and governance requirements are met.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise the implementation of Individual Care Plans (ICPs) in the residential services.
- Provide clinical supervision to senior social workers, social workers/case workers, and interns in consultation with the Exec Director.
- Assist the Exec Director to promote strategies to improve overall psycho-social wellbeing and family/community care/case support for all residents.
- Oversee and develop group work, programmes to meet the needs of the vulnerable children and youth in residential care and Youth Development Centre.
- Promote professional development through identifying learning needs, transfer of skills and knowledge and offer training where appropriate.
- Supervise and guide the social work team in their work to encourage growth in good practice as well as meeting the licensing and other governance requirements.
- Coordinate, construct and compile all necessary reports for submission and presentation in various boards, both internal and external.
- Assist the Executive Director to develop and implement strategies to improve overall psycho-social wellbeing and family/community care/case support for all residents.
- Relevant Social Work experience with at least 3 years of experience in managing a team of Social Workers and Senior Social Workers.
- Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work from a recognisable university.
Job Requirements
- Member of the Singapore Association of Social Workers is preferred
- Experience in working with children and youths and their families, especially those under child protection.
- Excellent people manager
- Good management skills
- Excellent professional and clinical supervision skills
- Keen to work in children and youth sector
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Great team player and collaborator.
Working Hours
Total work hours is 44 hours per week.
Under normal circumstances the hours of duty will be as follows:9.30am to 6.30pm - Monday to Friday (inclusive 1 hour lunch break)
The program is a 24/7 community care service, hence flexibility in work arrangement is expected.
