Reporting to the Head of Finance, this position is to support the Finance Senior Manager in the provisioning of financial, management & regulatory reporting and analysis of AH in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Finance Operations, Governance and Control
1. Supports partnering with other function stakeholders in the day-to-day Finance related queries around expense, claims and finance related system queries and issues.
2. Assist in the preparation of the schedules and calculation for monthly billings for Vitality and initiating billings for Amplify as required.
3. Monitor clearing of GRIR aging report with timely escalation should there be long-aged balances noted.
4. Assist in liaising and giving timely instructions to GFS for the recording of transactions and payments. Assist the Finance Senior Manager to ensure finance operations activities and the related reports including audited accounts are completed by Group Financial Solutions (“GFS”) under AIA Shared Services Sdn Bhd (“AIASS”) on a timely basis and in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines. Perform review on GFS outputs and deliverables and escalate as required. Monitor GFS service levels/KPI monthly.
5. Assist in monitoring of actual GOE performance against the Strategic Planning budget and/or latest forecast and performing quality analysis for the MTD and YTD variances for Vitality.
6. Support in performing review of AH monthly management accounts and financial position to be in accordance to the AIA Group accounting policies, applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.
7. Support in performing the ICFR controls in accordance with AIA Group policies, develop and update Business Process Manuals (BPM) relating to the Finance Department according to ICFR and other internal control requirements (ISAE3402), and support in any other control related initiatives.
8. Support the Finance Senior Manager in developing finance related policies with reference to the Group guidelines.
Financial, Management & Regulatory Reporting
9. Responsible for the retrieval of required data and information to support preparation of relevant analysis and business information to deliver AH’s strategy, financial risk management and any other regulatory requirements such as MAS / EDB requirements.
10. Responsible to deliver monthly management reports and assist the Finance Senior Manager in designing or enhancing monthly management reports.
11. Assist the Finance Senior Manager in establishing a framework to automate the delivery of scheduled financial reports to the extent possible.
Financial Planning & Budgeting
12. Assist the Finance Senior Manager in the preparation and implementation of the budget, capital plan and strategic plan to ensure timely, reliable and realistic forecasts.
13. Assist the Finance Senior Manager in reviewing performance against plan and provide board and management with a clear analysis of variances.
Other Responsibilities
14. Recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of stakeholders. Participate in projects for any development, design, and implementation of new processes, controls, and functionality changes to existing systems and processes.
15. Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by the Reporting Manager and Finance team from time to time in order to meet financial reporting requirements and/or other projects.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
- University Degree in Accountancy
- Internationally Recognized Accounting Qualification (ACCA, etc)
Experience:
- 4 + years finance functions including reporting and analysis in a multi-national company, and/or accounting and auditing experiences in a big-size accounting firm
- Specific Business Knowledge:
o Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles
o Good knowledge in the preparation of management, financial and regulatory reports and analysis
o Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
o Good knowledge in management reporting tools for e.g. Power BI, Tableau
o Knowledge of how the SAP Accounting System and Business Intelligence System work and designed, and familiar with using the systems to extract and refresh data.
Others:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with local and group personnel at various levels.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
