Position: Science Laboratory Support Personnel
Location: Ang Mo Kio Primary School, 20 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, Singapore 569920
Objective:The Science Laboratory Support Personnel, deployed by the Contractor, will contribute to the effective functioning of Ang Mo Kio Primary School's Science Laboratory. The primary objective is to provide comprehensive support to teachers, ensuring a conducive environment for science experiments and related activities.
Duration of Service:
- Base Period: 1 Mar 2024 to 29 Feb 2025Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 7 am to 2 pm
Thursdays: 7 am to 4 pm
- Option Period: 1 Mar 2025 to 28 Feb 2026 (same schedule as the base period)
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare Science Laboratory Resources:
- Organize and prepare science resources for teachers conducting experiments.
- Actively assist teachers during science laboratory lessons, adhering to the stipulated timetable.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the science laboratory after experiments.
- Manage and maintain an inventory of science laboratory resources.
2. Support Learning Trails and Activities at Eco-Garden:
- Collaborate with teachers to facilitate learning activities such as eco-trails, hydroponics, and farmbot activities.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching aids for use in the eco-garden.
3. Provide Simple Admin / Resource / IT Support:
- Manage the tracking of loaned items in the science laboratory.
- Assist in administrative tasks, including printing, collating, laminating, and organizing materials.
- Receive deliveries from MOE HQ, vendors, and agencies; distribute to the relevant areas.
- Provide basic IT support, including setting up projectors and iPad carts for teachers.
- Conduct stock take twice a year.
- Assist in the issuance and collection of desk copies and teaching aids.
4. Additional Information:
- The school operates in a Single-Session setting from 7.30 am – 1.30 pm daily.
- Personnel may be required to assist in administrative work during school term breaks (Mar, June, Sept, and Dec term breaks) based on school needs.
Qualification, Skill & Experience:
- Education: Minimum of secondary qualifications, at least GCE N levels (relevant work experience considered).
- Experience: Preferably worked as a science laboratory assistant in a primary school environment.
- Resourcefulness in preparing learning aids, contributing to cost savings.
- Experience with plants or involvement in planting/greening activities.
- Meticulous, proactive, with a keen eye for details.
- Willingness to learn new skills with a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Flexibility, openness to suggestions, and the ability to contribute to a positive working environment.
