Successful candidate will be under general supervision by Field Commissioning Engineers/Discipline Leads, to assist in the coordination of the Commissioning Technicians in the Commissioning activities on Process, Topsides, Marine and Turret systems.
You must be capable to demonstrate a full understanding of all applicable policies and work methods associated with assigned duties to commission and maintain instrumentation equipment and to perform other duties as required.
The Senior Technicians shall have minimum ten years of relevant industrial experience, five years of which shall have been in oil and gas or petrochemical industries, including extensive previous commissioning experience on FPSO projects. They will be fully conversant with the applicable National / International Codes and Standards. He/She must be able to perform a variety of commission, troubleshoot and repair of various electrical equipment including, but not limited to, MCC’s, VSD’s, distribution panels, motors, lighting and small power circuits.
Duties and Responsibilities
As for the Discipline Technicians with additional responsibilities as described below:.
- Communicate clearly and precisely.
- Understand the need for and adherence to the Permit to Work and Lock-Out Tag-Out Procedures.
- Understand and follow safe working practices.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Be instrumental in the preparation, lodgement and implementation of all relevant Permits.
- Be directly responsible for the preparation, planning and execution of the daily commissioning activites.
- Co-ordinate the technicians activities.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow workers and vendors.
- Coordinate activities with other departments.
- Ability to supervise workers to assist in commissioning.
- Assist in providing training for less experienced personnel.
- Good timekeeping practices.
- Preparation and submittal of MC and PC dossiers for handover to operations.
- As Building of documents and drawings.
EEHA (Ex) Qualifications
Preference will be given to Senior Technicians that hold current qualification in line with the requirements of IEC 60079-14 for installation, inspection and commissioning of EEHA equipment. These qualifications shall include the following:
- IECEx units Ex 001, Ex 003, Ex 006, or
- AS/NZS 4761.1 units 2.2, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6; or
- CompEx units Ex-01, and Ex-03
