This position is accountable for executing business acquisition, combination or divestiture transactions from initial concept to integration hand-off. This position will support assigned business teams to develop strategic acquisition / divestiture plans; support them through strategic evaluations of target opportunities and the potential impact to the business of acquiring those opportunities.
Principal responsibilities
1. Direct and execute business combination or divestiture transactions from initial concept to integration hand-off through all phases of the process.
2. Identify acquisition, divestiture, joint venture and strategic alliance opportunities.
3. Identify transaction structure(s) and direct the project business plan development and lead the valuation analysis.
4. Lead the due diligence process
5. Negotiate transactions and associated legal agreements.
6. Support in building and maintaining M&A pipeline
Required key skills (functional/technical)
· Knowledge of Industrial gases business
· Ability to operate in regional set up with team interfaces in varied time zones
Required qualifications/experience
- Bachelor's degree is required in Finance, Business Administration or Economics; MBA preferred
- 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Above-average financial management skills including financial modeling, financial analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, riskmanagement, etc.
- Exceptionally strong cross functional project management and organizational skills required.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Comfort in making decisions with limited data, assessing risk tolerance and ability to deal with uncertainty, often times under very tight deadlines.
- Clear communication and focused listening skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with and exhibit comfort around Praxair and target company senior management and theiradvisors.
- Affinity to understand and interpret complex legal documents
