Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:

  • Conducting comprehensive cost analysis for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment expenses.
  • Preparing accurate and detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and budget forecasts.
  • Evaluating and negotiating contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitoring project budgets, expenses, and progress to ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on the quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to provide cost-related insights and recommendations.
  • Handling variations, claims, and contractual issues related to cost and budgeting.
  • Conducting on-site visits and assessments to verify quantities and evaluate work progress.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new construction methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and budget management.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and relevant legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in quantity surveying.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in cost calculations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to adapt to changing project requirements
