PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Technical Director, will have the wealth of industry experience to partner with leadership to determine existing technical capabilities, current obstacles to business environment and future opportunities to create roadmaps to rejuvenate the engineering profession. This role will be able to quickly understand the qualitative technical issues and requirements. He/she will be a highly organized self-starter with considerable prior experience as a director in the engineering consultancy industry.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collaborate with leadership team and technical directors to determine existing technical capabilities and future needs
· Provide expertise advice on design quality on infrastructure and building projects and develop expertise of sharing capability within the teams
· Act as a technical adviser for younger engineers in the design and project management of projects.
· Provide mentoring to the younger generation of engineers to help them establish their foundation as professional consulting engineers in the build environment sector
· Act as a design auditor/QAQC auditor to ensure projects assigned fully follow our design procedures/processes under the ISO
· Submit technical project reports of design issues/problems to the Project Manager and PE after each auditing/QAQC.
· Visit project sites as required to observe any possible TFP and TOP/RI non-compliance.
· Submit monthly report to Executive Director on the project issues/non -compliance.
· Direct teams to create knowledge assets, documentations and procedures for effective project management
REQUIREMENTS
· Master or bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
· More than 25 years of multi-disciplinary project management experience in relevant industry sectors
· Registered with the Professional Board of Engineers/ Board of Architects (except PM and Power)
· Experience in design, design development and contract administration work
· Proven team leader with strong leadership and people skills. Able to plan, organize and deliver project deliverables and bottom line
· Able to lead multiple project teams
· Good business acumen
· Must have driven to develop the business
