Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, to manage all sea staff for the vessels under the company’s purview, including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Smooth day to day running of the department
- Attract, recruit and retain competent sea staff for the company’s fleet in accordance with STCW 95 / Flag States / clients’ requirements and MLC 2006 compliance
- Manage crew deployment in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner as guided by the Operations Manager
- Compensation and benefits administration including payroll, performance management and crew welfare
- Assist to train and develop sea staff to ensure compliance with prevailing legislation
- Handle crew disciplinary issues and dispute resolution where applicable
- Work with appointed marine agents for crewing, travel and medical administration
- Visit and assist operations site at Bukom to attend to crewing matters periodically
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in a relevant field of study
- Knowledge of Marine regulations, STCW Certification & ILO/MLC Convention
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity
- Good analytical skills, resourceful, confident and meticulous
- Proficient in relevant IT tools, including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be willing to travel to visit vessels occasionally if required and go beyond what is in the written job description
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English in order to liaise with Bahasa Indonesia and English speaking crew to manage crew matters efficiently and effectively.
