Contract Period: 15 February 2024 to 31 December 2024.
Working hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Fridays: 8:00am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Services:
1. Design and implement programmes/ initiatives to support uplift efforts in the school. Programme/ initiatives should include:
- Conduct meaningful and engaging activities for students during term time such as the Reintegration Programme, the Catalyst Programme and After School Engagement centre management.
- Organize events/activities at the school’s after-school engagement centre.
- Supervise students during activities, help manage and guide students towards building positive relationships.
- Monitor, track and ensure students’ participation in the activities.
- Work with school personnel in the follow-up on students who are not participating in the activities.
- Mentor identified students focussing on key areas e.g. goal setting, focussing on academic support, building SEL competencies.
- Work with community engagement and conduct of learning journeys, projects and collaborations.
- Conduct parent engagement and support initiatives to promote parent-child bonding activities.
- Conduct holiday programmes during school breaks.
-Preparation and provision of necessary materials for activities.
2. Assist and work with the teachers-in-charge to motivate students and equip them with the relevant skills and values.
3. Monitor students’ needs (i.e. social-emotional), such as looking out for signs of social emotional distress that would necessitate referring students for counselling or other support, and highlight or inform school personnel about students who need support.
4. Provide updates to school for monitoring and follow-up.
5. Provide information and/or access to relevant community resources and developmental opportunities for further support to the students.
6. Conduct evaluation feedback from students termly and share these reports with the school.
7. Assist in other school programmes/ initiatives that support holistic development of students though uplift efforts.
Qualification, Skill & Experience:
- Diploma or relevant certificates in youth work related fields.
- 2 years of experience working with youths.
