Job Description
Safety Officer
- Formulate and update safety policies and procedures in compliance with Workplace Safety and Health Act requirements
- Enforce and ensure site safety procedures and practices are implemented
- Perform regular inspections of the work site to identify and rectify safety hazards
- Identify and assess potential hazards in the work site or work processes
- Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend measures to mitigate identified risks
- Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with WSH standards
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine the root causes
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions based on investigation findings
Resident Technical Officer
- To carry out site supervision and inspection of the works including any off-site manufacturing as instructed by the consultant team so as to ensure that the works are constructed to require quality and accuracy.
- To monitor progress of the works on site and at any off-site manufacturing facilities and report delays immediately.
- To provide standing supervision as and when directed by the consultant team.
- To maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including records of tests, inspections, status of works, safety, site diary, materials and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities, etc.
- To check that contractor executes preliminaries items.
- To check services routes and contractor’s setting out and report any deviations to the consultant team.
- To verify reports and claims submitted by contractors.
- To record all variations as instructed or approved by consultant team.
- To attend to contractor’s queries and co-ordinate works of main contractor and direct contractors.
- To inspect and take over completed works.
- To undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the consultant team.
Job Requirement
- Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Registered WSH Officer/Safety Officer
- Registered with IES/BCA as Resident Technical Officer
- At least 5 years of relevant experience as RTO and WSH for building/construction industry
- Fully conversant with Building Control Act and Regulation
- Excellent people management skills and good interpersonal skills
