Business Need / Purpose of Role:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies, and providing accurate and timely financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial management, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee financial strategies and budgets for the offshore project.
- Monitor and analyze project expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare and present accurate and comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities related to the project and provide recommendations for mitigation or improvement.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to review financial implications of project decisions.
- Monitor project cash flow, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Conduct regular financial analysis, identifying trends, forecasting financial performance, and making data-driven recommendations to drive efficiency and profitability.
- Participate in contract negotiations and review financial terms and conditions.
- Manage the financial closing process for the project, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Provide guidance and support to the project team on financial matters, ensuring a clear understanding of financial goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits and reviews.
- Stay updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA/CA qualification preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably in offshore project environments.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
- Proficient in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
- Experience in creating and managing budgets, evaluating financial performance, and implementing cost-control measures.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the offshore industry and related financial considerations
