J&J is on a journey to centralize customer and external partner identity for our millions of users consuming services worldwide. Our goal is to improve user experiences by implementing a single universal directory and primary ID for each person.

The External Identity Product Group Owner, Senior Manager, will be directly responsible for growing all External Identity and Access Management (xIAM) products and services in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The person in this role will build relationships with regional business and technology leaders to identify sector and country specific requirements. They will define xIAM APAC adoption and feature roadmaps across our 7 product areas and collaborate with other Product Owners to influence the development of these features into our suite of products. Additionally, this person will be the key xIAM contact for the regional ISRM Business Information Security Officer (BISO) organization, partnering to improve the xIAM intake process and provide detailed feedback on customer identity related concerns and standard processes.

As the team in this region grows, the Product Owner will be responsible for delivering Proof of Concept and “Art of the possible” implementations for APAC requirements. They will grow this capability by partnering with our internal technology services organization to establish and lead an engineering team that will develop regional specific features as part of the xIAM Okta practice within J&J. A successful candidate for this role would be a seasoned identity expert with hands on experience in Okta and enterprise deployments for Customer Identity.

Responsibilities:

  • Relationship management across 40+ APAC business technology leaders, defining roadmaps and timelines to drive xIAM use in region
  • Partner with xIAM partners to review features, application requests, and platform design to influence our product backlog
  • Hands on development of Okta proof of concepts and APAC specific language and integration needs
  • Partner across ISRM to define and influence security policy and intake flow process changes to better represent the identity challenges of the region
  • Manage any additional xIAM employee to be hired in Singapore and the APAC xIAM development team delivering APAC features
  • Screen technical candidates when growing our teams with identity focused engineers
  • Perform demos to collaborators of new Okta features or xIAM developed custom features
  • Hold regional monthly and quarterly xIAM update sessions and training opportunities to echo the core xIAM team messages
  • Continue to train on the Okta platform to expand product knowledge

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the information security or information technology sector
  • Demonstrated ability in identity and access management with a focus on Okta
  • Experience developing, integrating, and deploying Okta for large scale companies
  • Experience partnering with enterprise leaders and representatives in the identity domain
  • Hands on experience defining and implementing product roadmaps
  • Solid understanding of IAM principles, protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth, LDAP), and security best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a distributed team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and empower multi-functional, interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Product Ownership
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks such as NIST, OWASP, SANS, CIS
  • Okta certified (Administrator, Consultant, Developer, Technical Architect)
  • Experience implementing non-Okta customer identity solutions (Azure B2C, Forgerock, Auth0, etc)
  • Experience developing and deploying both workforce and customer focused IAM solutions
  • Conceptual understanding of API integrations and API frameworks
  • Conceptual understanding of CI/CD automated development pipelines
  • Experience developing and maintaining SDLC documentation
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge to non-technical partners
  • Previous experience in professional services or consulting is a plus
