Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. They work to minimize costs and enhance value for money while ensuring that project standards and compliance are met. This role involves detailed assessment of costs, consideration of new and innovative ways to achieve project goals, and effective risk management.


Key Responsibilities:


- Cost Management: Prepare cost analysis based on architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labor involved. Plan and keep track of costs throughout the project lifecycle.


- Value Engineering: Work with engineering and construction teams to explore innovative ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality and compliance with regulations.


- Contract Management: Prepare contract documents, including bills of quantities and other detailed reports. Handle the procurement of subcontractors & suppliers, including negotiations, and manage contracts.


- Risk Management: Assess and manage risks that could impact costs and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.


- Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress against budgets, prepare progress reports, and make recommendations to ensure project remains within budget.


- Claim Management: Manage and evaluate construction claims and provide advice on contractual claims.


- Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact with clients on financial and contractual matters, ensuring clear communication and resolution of queries.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the fire protection industry.

- Strong understanding of fire protection systems, materials, and project management principles.

- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.


Working Conditions:

This role may require travel to various project sites and may involve working outside of traditional office hours to meet project deadlines.
