Primary Job Scope:
Assisting Patent Attorneys on the following tasks:
- Drafting patent specifications
- Responding to Office Actions
- Prosecuting patent applications in Singapore and overseas
- Conducting searches
- Analysing and studying patent or scientific documents
- Providing patent-related advice to clients
Requirements:
• Candidates should have a good tertiary degree in one of the fields of ICT, computer science/engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, material science, or life sciences.
• An advanced technical qualification (MSc or PhD) and the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, Graduate Diploma in IP and Innovation Management, or a Master of IP and Innovation Management will be advantageous but not required.
• Fresh entrants into the industry and candidates without experience are welcome to apply.
• Candidates should expect to invest time outside of work hours over a number of years to complete the required course work and pass the Patent Agents Qualifying Examination to qualify as a Registered Singapore Patent Attorney.
• Candidates should have a strong command of written and spoken English.
• Candidates should be self-motivated and proactive in handling of tasks.
• Candidates must be able to work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to prioritise deadlines well.
• Experienced candidates should have a strong willingness to learn and adapt to changes in practices.
