Data and Infrastructure Security Manager

Key accountability (Main purpose of this job):

The Data and Infrastructure Security Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of an organisation's data systems and IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to ensure that data is effectively stored, processed, and secured, while also managing the underlying technology infrastructure that supports these operations.


Responsibilities (Key areas of Responsibilities):

Data Management:

  • Develop and implement data management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, availability, and confidentiality.
  • Design and maintain data architecture, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, to support the organisation's data needs.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and design solutions that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of infrastructure components to support business operations and growth.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, diagnose issues, and implement appropriate solutions to minimise downtime and disruptions.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a team of skilled IT professionals responsible for data management, database administration, system administration, network management, and related areas.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to team members to foster professional growth and achieve departmental objectives.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data and protect against data breaches, cyberattacks, and unauthorised access.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards, such as PDPA and ISO.

Technology Strategy:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in data management, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, and assess their potential impact on the organisation.

Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and products.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data and system availability in the event of unexpected disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data management, database administration, and IT infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, data modelling, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certification on Data Management and programs.
