Responsibilities for building electrician
- Installing and maintaining, repairing building electrical distribution systems
- Monitor the operations and make customer approved adjustments of chilled water systems, heat exchangers, CRAC Units, HVAC, electrical systems, emergency back-up systems, hot water systems, pumps, valves, filters and other mechanical and electrical equipment
- Installing outlets, disconnects, motor starters, inside and outside lighting systems, frequency drives, building safety equipment, fans, pumps, and motors, and other electrical-related systems, fire alarm systems
- Maintain and repair the mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection systems that protect and support business critical information systems (servers, mainframes, etc)
- A working understanding of commercial three phase electrical systems
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble a variety of electrical appliances, controls and equipment following established procedures
- Diagnose and correct malfunctions in interior and exterior electrical circuits
- Test electrical equipment to identify and fix malfunctions
- Assist with job site and general safety, including general ground support, staging materials, and general site preparation and clean-up
- Ensure that all equipment stays in line with electrical codes, regulations, and standards
Qualifications for building electrician
- 4 years of general building maintenance experience and/or electrician experience, including a practical ability to perform various carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks
- Ability to perform work from ladders, scaffolds and powered lift platforms
- Ability to assemble and disassemble various types of modular office furniture including partitions and wall sections
