Strategic account delivery management is an essential aspect of a thriving business. The primary responsibility of a Strategic Account Delivery Lead is to establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients, recognize opportunities for expansion, and work in conjunction with internal teams to fulfill client requirements.

As a Strategic Account Delivery Lead, your responsibility is to maintain and grow relationships with our key clients. Your role is crucial in ensuring client satisfaction, driving revenue growth, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. You will act as the primary point of contact for our clients, comprehending their business needs and providing strategic solutions to help them achieve their objectives. This position demands exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of the industry and our clients’ businesses.

Strategic account manager responsibilities

  1. Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with key clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all inquiries, concerns, and escalations.
  2. Comprehend clients’ business objectives, challenges, and market trends to provide strategic counsel and solutions that align with their goals.
  3. Conduct regular business reviews with clients to evaluate their satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and uncover opportunities for growth.
  4. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, working in close collaboration with the Sales team to develop account expansion strategies.
  5. Monitor and analyze client performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  6. Remain current with industry trends, the competitive landscape, and market conditions to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities for our clients.
  7. Track and report on key account metrics, such as revenue growth, customer retention, and client satisfaction, to senior management.
  8. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation and successful delivery of services.
  9. Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships with existing clients and generate new business leads.

Strategic account delivery lead required skills

  7. Outcome-focused, with an understanding of the importance of delivering value early,enabling fast feedback loops and making decisions based on data, and experience in establishing these practices.
  8. Innovative and passionate about the art of delivery, with a thirst to learn and share knowledge.
  9. Proven ability to form, guide, evolve, support and motivate teams.
  10. Leading strategy and implementation for agile adoption across teams/organisations.
  11. Experienced in developing and aligning relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  12. Leadership coaching.
  13. Work across multiple teams/work streams to promote effective cross-functional delivery.
  14. Experienced in consciously designing and optimising organisational structures.

Required qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in account management, preferably in a B2B environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of the industry and the ability to understand clients' business objectives and challenges.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  6. Ability to travel for client meetings and industry events as required.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
  8. Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  9. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  10. Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
