They are looking for a highly capable and experienced Senior Finance and Compliance Manager to oversee key areas of their business, including employee management, taxation, accounting, compliance, contract management, and regulatory requirements. This individual will also play a vital role in strategic decision-making, cost savings, budget handling, and investor relations, and have a strong understanding of SAFE notes, cap table management, equity structuring, and ESOP allocation.
Job Description:
As the Finance and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for:
Employee Management:
- Overseeing the employee onboarding process, ensuring all necessary documents are in order
- Managing the payroll process and coordinating with third-party providers for multi-country employees
- Providing support to employees regarding payroll-related queries and issues
- Developing and implementing employee policies and procedures about finance
Taxation, Accounting and Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with Singapore taxation laws and regulations
- Coordinating with third-party providers for India and Indonesia taxation and compliance matters
- Reviewing financial statements and ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Implementing internal controls and processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Contract Management:
- Managing customer and supplier contracts, including negotiation of terms and conditions
- Collaborating with third-party providers for India and Indonesia contract management
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and resolving any disputes
Multi-Country Entity Management:
- Overseeing the activities of third-party providers in multiple countries, while ensuring compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures
- Coordinating with the providers for payroll management, taxation, accounting, and regulatory compliance
- Ensuring accurate and timely reporting from the third-party providers
- Regular communication with the providers to address any issues or concerns
Singapore Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in Singapore
- Staying updated on changes in regulations and adjusting policies and procedures accordingly
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement necessary changes
Cap Table Management, Equity Structuring, and ESOP Allocation:
- Managing and maintaining accurate records of the company's cap table
- Understanding the intricacies of SAFE notes and equity structuring
- Overseeing the administration of the Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP)
- Collaborating with the founders, legal team, and relevant third-party providers to ensure accurate allocation and management of equity and ESOPs
Strategic Work:
- Providing mid to senior-level leadership in finance and compliance
- Assisting the founders with cost savings initiatives and budget handling
- Conducting financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborating with the founders to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
- Assisting in the development and execution of investor relations strategies
- Reporting and documentation - MIS to investors and variance analysis of planned versus actual spends
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in finance and compliance management, with a proven track record of mid to senior leadership responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore taxation and regulations
- Familiarity with multi-country taxation and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally
- Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in cost savings initiatives, budget handling, and investor relations
- Familiarity with SAFE notes, cap table management, equity structuring, and ESOP allocation
