About the role
Information technology at Kaplan International (KI) is a key enabler of business transformation and growth. KI is going through a multi-year digital transformation programme across the student journey. As part of this transformation, we are enhancing and expanding our Security Operations team to meet increasing cyber threats.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Kaplan security operations solutions, resolve identified threats, or work with other teams to ensure issues are resolved.
- Monitoring and analysing security events and alerts, identifying potential threats, and taking necessary actions to mitigate risks.
- Proactively searching for advanced threats, zero-day vulnerabilities, and sophisticated attacks.
- Ensure the configuration of Cloud Solutions and SaaS solutions meet security requirements.
- Stakeholder engagement; promoting a mind-set of developing secure systems, transferring knowledge of security standards / processes and acting as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Documenting security incidents, their analysis, and remediation measures, and providing regular updates and reports.
- Identifying, prioritizing, and managing vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
- Managing and maintaining security systems and tools, such as firewalls, IPS, antivirus solutions, and log management tools.
- Contributing to the development, enforcement, and compliance of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge, providing guidance.
- Evaluating, selecting, and implementing security tools and technologies to improve security operations.
- Investigate, recommend, and implement security solutions to protect against new and developing threats.
Requirements:
- Expertise across the whole IT security spectrum (Software, Servers, Infrastructure, Networks)
- AWS Security Specialist certification
- MS SC-200, SC-300, MS SC-900 certifications
- Strong IT Security knowledge and ability to balance business objectives with information security best practices
- Advanced scripting and automation experience.
- Documenting security incidents, their analysis, and remediation measures, and providing regular updates and reports.
- Identifying, prioritizing, and managing vulnerabilities in systems and applications
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management, EDR, XDR, DLP, SOC management tooling and other security tools.
- Experience in securing Office 365 and configuring Microsoft security tools.
- Working knowledge of public cloud security and protecting SaaS solutions
- An inquiring mind, can-do, positive attitude, and initiative-taking approach
- Good organisational and planning skills and the ability to make decisions independently
