Responsibilities
- Develop & execute sourcing strategies on assigned commodities with regional commodity leaders.
- Participate and support Global Commodity Leads in managing global commodities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in executing these strategies.
- Drive improvements in quality, delivery and cost to meet Strategic Sourcing targets and initiatives.
- Stay updated on design, product and market requirements from Business Units and, in turn, share market and suppliers’ developments.
- Effective relationship building and communication skills at senior management levels within internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Lead external partners and the relevant business unit in preparing and implementing commercial strategies with external partners to achieve goals and initiatives.
- Ability to create and deliver presentations to diverse audiences from supply chain, business management to senior management within the organisation, and external partners.
- Conduct regular business reviews with strategic and critical suppliers involving relevant stakeholders.
- Coach the team to build functional and leadership capabilities.
- Continually review and explore development opportunities. Provide constructive feedback to drive improvements and/or corrections.
- Facilitate and conduct information sharing to global commodity team and relevant stakeholders to enhance collaboration and adoption of best practices.
- Continually review supply base - source & develop new and potential suppliers to support the business requirements.
- Conduct sourcing workshops to continuously build up the savings funnel to achieve year-on-year savings target.
- Identify strategic sourcing best practices and drive these best practices into the Company’s strategic sourcing toolkit and sourcing strategies.
- Apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws
- Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. HSQE) and functional policies
Requirements
- Electronics Engineering degree
- Min 10 years of sourcing responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and with at least 5 years’ experience of managing a team
- Experienced in managing ODM/EMS partners in a large scale
- Experienced in leading meeting and negotiation with senior executives
- Experience and continual success in achieving net deflation and productivity
- Proven track record in the development and management of the sourcing function via both multi-site management responsibility and multi-commodity responsibility
- APAC regional sourcing experience is a must
- Broad knowledge in managing ODM/EMS partners and direct material commodities (e.g., Electronics components, PCBA etc.)
- Possess well-rounded knowledge in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational procurement.
- Knowledge and experience in contract review and commercial negotiation
- Exposure in high-mix low-volume (HMLV) environment preferred.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) to various levels of the organization & at global leve.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing in production environment and experience in implementing Kanban/Consignment systems.
- Cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries and time zones.
- Extensive knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of commodities including technology trend, supply & demand dynamics, supplier analysis, pricing and development
- Proven team leader, comfortable in leading cross-functional and multi-cultural teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects / assignments requiring identification of objectives, resources and/or approaches.
- Demonstrated excellent analytical skills in a dynamic new product introduction environment and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- High energy, driven and enthusiastic about opportunities for in-depth NPI sourcing strategy execution.
- Ability to influence and effectively negotiate with suppliers and with various organizational levels within the organisation.
