Workplace Safety Health Officer
Responsibilities:
Update Plant Safety practices documents as directed to create a safe working environment
Audit & manage supervisors and projects
Develop, own & manage Company safety system & policy to ensure Company complies with local safety laws and requirements
Assist in safety and technical training as needed and directed
Environmental data entry, monitoring reports and maintaining on-site files for inspectors.
Assist in Conducting ongoing safety inspections and audits of facilities, operations, and equipment to insure a safe working environment for all AWC employees
Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and recommend / conduct training as necessary on his own initiative
Assists in Industrial Hygiene monitoring for noise and chemical exposure and Maintain files
Administers and maintains MSDS Programs
Develop and implement proactive environment, health and safety programs, Risk Assessments & Method statements. Develop, implement, and maintain SHE Performance Measurement Programs (i.e., audits, metrics), tracking and reporting progress
Ensure compliance with local regulations pertaining to health, environmental and safety standards. Interface with regulatory agencies and assist during regulatory inspections. Keep apprised of development in local safety and environmental laws
Develop and manage accident and injury investigation program. Manage workers compensation program and costs. Initiate investigations when appropriate. Establish target areas and long range accident risk reduction and cost control objectives
Prepare Noise Management plan, SHEMS and other plan as required for the project
Maintain documents and continuously improve the ISO system in the company
Qualifications:
The suitable candidate must register with the Government agencies like MOM (for WSHE officer) & NEA (for ECO) and should have at least 3 years post registration.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably but not essential), Occupational Safety, or other Environmental, Health and Safety Related program.
Minimum 2-5 years of EHS and Process Safety experience
Familiarity with Safety Engineering Tools, e.g. P&IDs, PHA, HAZOP tools, etc.
Excellent conceptual, analytical and structural capabilities as well as ability to think systematically.
Capability to lead and/or work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as drive for performance.
Establish controls and accountabilities for safety and health in the workplace
Act as the SPOC on all safety, environmental, and health issues
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient in managing ISO:9001, ISO:14001, ISO:18001 system
