What you will do

The Solution Architect is part of the commercial digital solutions team within JCI’s Building Technology & Solutions business. This team is at the center of JCI’s fast growing digital IoT smart building strategy delivering solutions across the building ecosystem.

You will be responsible for customer technical engagement and development, building trusted and relevant relationships, based on technical, solution focused, outcome driven commercial engagements. You will be representing the JCI Digital and software portfolio, to support customers’ unique transformation journeys to accelerate their goals and strategic values. You will build trust, evangelize, influence, and provide thought-leadership to customers while coordinating cross-portfolio activities and delivering differentiated understanding with the customer of JCI offerings. With expertise in software architecture, solutions, and applications, you will drive customer engagement through elevation of their understanding on how to achieve key outcomes such as sustainability, carbon zero, building optimization, and overall management of their real estate and smart buildings. You will influence customers to make informed decisions and drive their business outcomes, ensuring that JCI best-of-breed solutions are aligned to their top business and IT priorities


How you will do it

Under general direction, you will oversee, influence, and own technical discussion for solutioning of JCI’s Smart Building IoT platform into customer environments aligned to business objectives. This role is accountable to ensure technical product fit for high-impact customer use case/scenarios, delivering architectural design session and determining technical feasibility for customers. You demonstrate the solutions, manage customer requirements, lead solution workshops, and analyze business requirements to deliver technical solutions.

Skills required for the role include technical decision maker influence, differentiating offerings from competitors, and understanding complex enterprise IT environments, along with IoT technical experience and acumen. This role provides customer signal back to the product teams to inform future development.


Responsibilities

  • Engage and manage relationship with IT and TDMs to understand technical environment and requirements, confirm product fit, define technical success criteria and solution management process
  • Deliver JCI digital solution demos
  • Lead architectural design workshops with customers to understand and align JCI OpenBlue platform fit to customer specifications across device topology, connectivity, diagnostics and monitoring, and security as well as data pipelines, including monitoring and data transformation as they relate to IoT.
  • Qualify opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements, solution vision and alignment, competition, decision making process and funding; and help to achieve evaluation and project goals
  • Demonstrate technical thought leadership, education and consulting to clients on the benefits and business value of a holistic smart building approach.
  • Help execute a holistic integration plan to maximize system-to-system interactions and communications
  • Own technical aspects of strategic Account Planning (customer/partner) including progress and blockers
  • Act as primary contributor to product team sharing insights with quantitative impact for technical blockers to influence product roadmap
  • Collaborate with regional sellers, Solution Specialists and Customer Success teams to ensure full solution value designed and delivered to customer
  • Measure of success for this role will be tied to pipeline development and then sales target attainment

What we look for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering or related technical discipline OR equivalent experience
  • Experience with IoT solution infrastructure, provision and manage devices, data processing and management, optimize IoT solutions and security models
  • Experience in designing, developing, and launching solutions involving Edge, cloud, analytics, and UI
  • Technical experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java, or Python and integrating APIs desired
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise, value-based technical solution and software sales, meeting revenue targets
  • Experienced in building and maintaining Executive level (CXO) stakeholder relationships and leading value proposition conversations aligned to customer priorities and outcomes
  • Experienced in collaborating, orchestrating and leading teams to develop and close sales opportunities through influence
  • Strong business acumen demonstrated, including business case development, strong rhetorical skills, natural teaming and collaboration skills, achievement oriented and highly savvy in technology and digital information
  • Candidate should be adaptive, agile and demonstrate curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Experience working in a large corporation, matrixed organization
  • Willing to travel as needed within Asia Pacific region
