TikTok's Web Architecture department is seeking a skilled and visionary Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of our web development initiatives. You will lead the strategic planning and execution of key aspects such as Monorepo implementation, Automation Testing, Release Flow optimization, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
-Engineering Architecture Strategy: Develop and drive the engineering architecture strategy for the Web Architecture team, aligning with TikTok's technical vision and business goals.
-Monorepo: Lead the design, implementation, and management of a Monorepo approach, fostering efficient code sharing, version control, and streamlined development processes.
-Automation Testing: Spearhead the adoption of automation testing best practices across web projects, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests. Ensure code quality and reliability through automated testing pipelines.
-Release Flow Optimization: Define and optimize release processes, focusing on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Streamline deployment procedures for faster and more reliable releases.
-Technical Vision: Provide clear technical vision and architectural guidance to the team. Establish coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices for consistent and high-quality development outcomes.
-Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and QA teams, to ensure seamless integration of web components within the broader TikTok ecosystem.
-Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest web technologies, trends, and industry practices. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance the team's efficiency.
-Performance Optimization: Work collaboratively with Performance Engineers to optimize web applications for speed, responsiveness, and scalability, ensuring an exceptional user experience.
-Risk Management: Proactively identify potential technical risks and challenges, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: 5 years of extensive web development experience, with a strong focus on architectural design and strategy.
-Technical Proficiency: Expertise in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
-Monorepo Mastery: Proven experience in designing and managing Monorepo environments for large-scale web development projects.
-Automation Testing: Demonstrated ability to implement and manage automated testing pipelines for web applications.
-CI/CD Excellence: Proficiency in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for web projects.
-Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of analyzing complex technical challenges and providing innovative solutions.
-Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-Leadership: Strong leadership experience, including team management, mentorship, and technical guidance.
-Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and a history of delivering high-quality software in an Agile environment.

-Deep understanding of backend technologies and microservices architecture.
-Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
-Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
