Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel and guidance on matters related to financial services, including regulatory compliance, product launches, contracts, and transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements
- Stay current with relevant financial services regulations, particularly those issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), including the Payment Services Act (PSA) and the Securities and Futures Act (SFA)
- Advise on compliance procedures and best practices, identifying and mitigating potential legal risks
- Conduct legal due diligence for proposed transactions and partnerships
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel when necessary
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide legal support and achieve business goals
- Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within the financial services industry
- Strong understanding of the Singaporean legal system and relevant financial services regulations (MAS, PSA, SFA)
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to both legal and non-legal audiences
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Team player with a collaborative and proactive approach
