VP, Financial Planning & Analysis (APAC)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance and creation of managerial accounting framework and operational processes.
  • Preparation of budgets and actively engage Tokyo HO and APD departments to finalize the budget allocations.Compare historical results against budgets and forecasts.
    Conduct variance analysis to explain differences in performance and make improvement plan.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for Management and Head Office relating to budget progress and forecast of achievement.
  • Support in performing analytical function focusing on the following key areas:Evaluate whether the bank’s existing resources eg. funded assets, commitment, RWA and headcount are effectively utilized.
    Evaluate the cost efficiency of each department or product by considering the weightage of the financial resources each department consume.
    Determine which business, country and product have the highest and lowest net profit and profitability (ROE, ROFA and RARORA).
    Creating, updating and maintaining financial models and detailed forecasts of the P&L and balance sheet resources.
    Recommend the optimal ways to expand and grow the businesses.
  • Support the execution of profitability framework to ensure the financial targets and planned improvement initiatives by Front Office departments are met.
  • Lead the regional Project Management Office to improve the usage of a new Head Office system relating to Front Office transactions.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in finance or accountancy.
  • 5 to 7 years of working experience in Financial / Management Accounting in the banking industry.
  • Ability to converse in Japanese, both written and oral, is a must since this role will require close communication with Tokyo HO.
  • Strong in problem solving and process improvement, driving change and adoption for continuous improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in data processing tools (eg. Anaplan, Alteryx) and data visualization software (eg. Tableau, Power BI) will be an added advantage.
  • Being a self-starter, pro-active and team player are key attributes.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
