Job Description:
- Responsible to qualify and approve the WPS, PQR, WQT
- Ensure consumable control system is in place and followed up during issue, usage at site.
- Identify and develop the appropriate WPS for the project based on the parent metal and joint configuration.
- Establish welding sequence for the structure to minimize of control the distortion.
- Co-ordinate with Client and Classification body on welding related issues at site on day to day basis.
- Ensure regular updating and release of the Qualification welder list for module specific for the project
- Monitor calibration of Welding equipment and other measuring instrument used for inspection of welding
- Perform surveillance inspections related to following WPS requirements and NDT activities at site.
- Responsible to trouble shot the problems related to Welding and NDT.
- Establish welding sequence for critical structure to minimize / control distortion.
- Prepare and conduct Project Specific Inductions/workshops/tool/box talk about welding control and NDT requirements
- Coordinate with production team on corrective measures related to welding issues and NDT.
- Review NDT procedures prepared by NDT sub-contractor as per project specification prior to submitting for client approval.
- Review NDT operator qualification and submit for project approval.
- Establish calibration and validation blocks required to demonstrate Ultrasonic Testing.
- Carry out Audit on NDT contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Propose improvements in welding process, products etc.
Job Requirement:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineeer
- Min 3 year experiences
- With IWE certification with exposure in NDT methods
