To lead M&A activities, due diligences of potential acquisition targets, be a resource to the integration team and strategic advice on IMCD APAC development.
Reports To: President, APAC and dotted to Global Group Director, M&A
Main Accountabilities
M&A
- Take charge of the whole process of M&A from evaluation, to support in NBO negotiations, due diligence coordination, SPA/APA support, signing and closing of the transaction of selected companies across the APAC region.
- Lead the strategic process of finding new M&A targets to strengthen the M&A pipeline in close collaboration with country MD/BUD’s including an individual M&A business case mapping for each country/BG
- Lead the monthly APAC M&A core team Management including follow up on actions
- Lead end to end deal execution process, oversee due diligence process, coordinate discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the country leads and APAC M&A core team with the full negotiation process.
Integration
- Serve as trusted advisor and key resource to the integration team, key stakeholders, ensuring collaboration, sharing best practices with the workstreams by managing cross-functional relationships through transparency, effective communication, frequent updates and folly ups of key actions/milestones.
- Build and maintain trusted relationship with internal and external stakeholders/partners.
- Prepare summary for Board in Rotterdam on status of integration processes.
Strategic Growth
- Responsible for business analysis of potential M&A and supplier growth opportunities in APAC through working closely with the regional management team, country leads, BG Directors and functional teams.
- Analyses the business performance of the various operating companies to identify trends and develop the business case for improvements that align with overall Group corporate strategy. Present to and obtain sign-off from the President, APAC.
- Work in conjunction with the MDs in APAC and their teams to roll out and deliver on the APAC 5 Pillar strategy.
- Assist in key supplier projects in cooperation with the business groups and help close supplier deals / contracts.
- Identify best practices in the various business groups and ensure the rollout across the region and business groups.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or above degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or MBA;
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in M&A or a major audit firm;
- Preferably knowledge in financial modelling skills;
- Team-player with excellent people, communication and influencing skills;
- Exposure to the chemical industry will be a huge advantage;
- Proven and strong project management skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese, including both technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills;
- Needs to understand all aspects of operations thoroughly and be able to work effectively across different functions and at all levels in the company and with external stakeholders on business, legal and financial matters;
- Business minded, has the ability to transfer business assumptions into financial modelling. Strong analytical skills required;
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and direction;
- Hands-on, able to work well under stress, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Able to multi-task;
- Takes on a highly organized and structured approach.
