Responsibilities
1. Review and Drafting
· Assist in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies.
· Periodic review of organisation standard agreements to ensure that it is up to date with the respective laws and regulations.
· Thoroughly review and analyse legal agreements between the organisation and clients/partners/vendors.
2. Risk Management
· Identify potential legal risks in agreements and transactions and communicate these risks to the management, finance and/or team members.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for risk mitigation.
3. Data Privacy Compliance
· Stay abreast of data privacy laws and regulations.
· Review and update the organisation's data privacy policy to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
· Provide guidance on data protection impact assessments and compliance initiatives.
4. Legal Research
· Conduct legal research on relevant issues to support decision-making and legal strategy.
· Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organisation.
5. Contract Management
· Maintain an organised system for contract management, including tracking key dates, renewals, and compliance requirements.
6. Dispute Resolution
· Assist in the resolution of legal disputes, including coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary.
· Participate in negotiations and settlements to protect the organisation's interests.
7. Policy Development
· Collaborate with the management team to develop and update organisational policies to ensure legal compliance.
Requirements
● Diploma in Law or equivalent.
● Preferably with 2 years of experience as a Legal Executive or similar role.
● Strong understanding of contract law, data privacy, and relevant legal frameworks.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
● Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
