We are at the forefront of creating innovative solutions to address the critical shortage of cornea tissues for transplantation. Our team is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join us as Research and Development Specialists/Engineers. In these roles, you will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, particularly in creating cornea tissues from adult stem cells.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tissue Engineering Frontiers:
- Gain exposure to the chemistry and engineering of collagen and collagen sheets, essential elements in generating biomimetic human cornea.
- Play a pivotal role in creating cornea tissues from adult stem cells, contributing significantly to our mission in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
- Grow, test, and characterize cells, exploring creative approaches and designing efficient media formulae to ensure the highest quality of cell therapy.
2. Laboratory Operations and Maintenance:
- Collect, prepare, analyze, dissect, and evaluate specimens and tissue cultures.
- Operate laboratory equipment and actively contribute to the maintenance of the laboratory.
- Perform a variety of assays, tests, and routine studies with precision and accuracy.
3. Data Analysis and Documentation:
- Perform calculations to complete research test results, collate data, and conduct statistical analysis of lab results.
- Maintain detailed notes and computer databases, performing basic procedures for computer-assisted data analysis.
4. Techniques and Analysis:
- Prepare stock chemical solutions, offer solutions, and handle radioisotope solutions.
- Conduct immunohistology and image analysis using immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence techniques on frozen and archived biopsy specimens.
- Perform extractions of nucleic acids from blood and biopsy specimens, conduct appropriate PCR experiments and analysis, including quantitative PCR.
Qualifications:
- Degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in research lab.
- Demonstrable interest in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and biomaterials.
- Proficiency in cell culture techniques, immunohistochemistry, and molecular biology methods.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, creativity, and eagerness to explore innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and effective teamwork mindset.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Experience in laboratory operations, equipment handling, and data analysis.
