The role:
The Southeast Asia Business Exchange initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum in Jakarta on 6 September 2023 as part of Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. The strategy, developed by Special Envoy for Southeast Asia, Mr Nicholas Moore AO, sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia’s two-way trade and investment with Southeast Asia.
The Southeast Asia Business Exchange Team will support Australian exporters to enter, compete and grow in Southeast Asia. They will also support efforts to boost two-way trade. As part of the program, Austrade team members will:
• Seek to strengthen Southeast Asia literacy in the Australian business community including driving awareness of the opportunities in Southeast Asian markets to Australian business and consumers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including industry bodies, business councils, and chambers.
• Recruit for and deliver sector specific business missions across the region in collaboration with partners.
• Perform and coordinate aftercare services for participants in business missions in collaboration with our regional network.
The Southeast Asia (SEA) Regional Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in creating the commercial and policy outcomes for the program.
Duties include:
• Develop and implement Southeast Asia wide marketing strategies to raise awareness of the Southeast Asia Economic Strategy and commercial potential it forecasts both within Southeast Asia and Australia.
• Work with a regional team of marketing managers to amplify Southeast Asian wide messaging, find synergies and efficiencies as they as they localise the sectoral and market strategies included in the Southeast Asia Economic Strategy.
• Maximising promotional opportunities to support the success of business missions.
• Create content and new opportunities to raise SEA literacy and awareness of the commercial potential between Australia and Southeast Asia within the Australian business community.
• Partner with Australian based stakeholders to ensure regional content, insights and context is appropriately reflected in the Australian domestic marketing and communications campaign highlighting Southeast Asian exports to Australia.
• Deliver and report against key metrics to track strategic marketing outcomes.

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
• Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in Singapore, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in Singapore at the time of appointment.
• Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English.
• Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the
role.
