RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in the development of new designs and adaptation of existing ones for next-generation semiconductor equipment working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Development of embedded systems that support real-time distributed control, multiprocessing, and data analysis – ARM Processor/ DSP/ Microprocessor
- Development of power electronics and controls for motors, actuators, and transducers including servo drive, discrete power amplifier, and power supply design
- Multilayer PCB design and verification using Altium Designer
- Continuous-flex cable design for interconnecting bonder systems using Zuken™ E3.cable
- Coordinates production release of PCB and cable designs via Siemens Teamcenter®
- Writes specifications and documentation for new designs.
- Performs bench and lab testing at the board and machine integration level.
- Performs bring-up, troubleshooting, and debugging of prototypes.
- Support production/field issue with respect to system/subsystem related problem as a team within cross functional group.
- Conduct engineering verification and setup/execute reliability testing plan.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience with circuit design and analysis
-Comprehension of datasheets and application notes for component selection
-Working knowledge of PID controls and feedback theory
- Experience with PCB design: component libraries, schematic capture, and layout
-Altium Designer® experience is a plus.
- Experience with cable design for continuous-flex applications
-Zuken™ E3.cable experience is a plus.
- Experience with microcontrollers and firmware programming using C.
-Experience working with debuggers is a plus.
- Experience with reading and writing technical specifications.
- Experience with FPGAs and HDL
-IP integration, RTL simulation, and timing analysis
- Familiar with lab equipment such as an oscilloscope and current/differential probe
- Knowledge of different types of motor applications, such as DC servo motors, stepper motors etc.
- Knowledge on VME, PCIe, RS485, Ethernet, LVDS, and Serdes is a plus.
- Knowledge of machine level electrical system architecture design is a plus.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience or master’s in electrical engineering, or related field preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
