Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the organisation's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure efficient and secure data transmission
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design network solutions that align with organisational goals and industry best practices
- Configure and optimise network devices to achieve high availability, redundancy, and scalability
- Perform network diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex network problems, including issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, to safeguard confidential financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and congestion issues
- Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and service-level agreements, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of network-related policies, procedures, and standards
To succeed in this Network Vulnerability Engineer role, you will require at least five years' experience as a Network Engineer with experience in vulnerability management.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer in the financial sector, with working experience in vulnerability management
- Strong knowledge in networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF), and technologies (LAN, WAN, MPLS)
- Hands-on experience with network hardware, including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools such as such as WireShark, MFNA, Solarwinds, CPacket, SevOne, Zabbix
- Familiarity with network security technologies, including firewall rules, VPNs, and access control lists
- Solid understanding of network capacity planning principles and change management processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
