WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting SEA&I (Southeast Asia and India) who will be part of the SEA&I Record-to-Report team to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting and maintain an effective internal control environment.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
You will ensure timely and accurate month-end closing across SEA&I territory and will drive continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s accounting and financial reporting processes. This will also involve working closely with our Managed Service Provider for accounting transactions.
You will develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers of the business. In addition, you may engage with internal Country Controlling teams, Finance, Legal, Tax and other cross functional teams to analyse process impact, to drive necessary changes in supporting business initiatives and efficiencies.
You will also be part of the team managing local statutory filings and audits and collaborate with internal and external auditors and tax advisors on tax related work such as corporate income tax, consumption (indirect) tax, transfer pricing related matters and local tax audits.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
This role directly reports to Manager – Corporate Accounting, SEA&I. In addition to working closely with the SEA&I Finance team, you will also work closely with our broader Nike SEA&I team. Effective and timely communication between Nike SEA&I, APLA Geography teams and business partners are a critical piece to this role, and this will give you a great opportunity to learn our end to end business process with broader business key stakeholders. You will also interact with various service providers who we partner with in driving various initiatives or audits.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting required, preferably with CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience with public accounting firms and/or multi-national companies desired
- Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX required and experience with SAP is preferred
- Experience working with or in a Managed Service Provider environment would be highly preferred, as will process mapping, centralisation or standardisation experiences
- Ability to translate business requirements into operationalisation with considerations for financial risks and controls across end-to-end processes.
- Demonstrate good communication and influencing skills on complex accounting requirements.
- Proven track record of working independently, leading and prioritising against multiple priorities, while delivering results with high quality.
