Job Description
- Provides leadership, planning and overall management of the QHSSE department
- Promotion of a genuine safety culture across all business units
- Acts as DPA and CSO
- Ensures that policies and procedures are created in line with best international practices such as OVMSA, Marine Safety Forum, Intertanko etc.
- Ensure those QHSSE standards are applied to our vessels, our employees (ashore and seagoing) as well as subcontractors
- Ensures an effective system is in place for smooth operation and the safety of all onboard the vessels and ashore
- Responsible for the production of all reports related to non-conformances, accidents, incidents and near misses
- In charge of the Group’s internal and external QHSSE audits
- Ensures Corrective and Preventive Action Plans are generated
- Responsible for ensuring that safety systems on-board, such as safety committees, inspections/audits are in place
Requirements
- Ex-Chief Officer/Mate, Second Officer during sailing time
- Minimum 15 years of related working experience in the management of safety within the maritime industry
- Knowledge of the various regulatory processes and systems in QHSSE management such as the ISO standards and ISM code
- Must have Ship Management in Offshore Supply Vessels experience with strong focus in Quality, Health, Safety, Sustainability & Environmental experience.
- Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Lead auditor, Incident Investigation, DPA and CSO certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
