JOB SUMMARY

  • The Group Financial Planning & Analytics team is collaborating with Risk, Treasury and Business stakeholders to transform the way we forecast, plan, and allocate financial resources and we are building a team to drive and deliver this change work. Basel 3.1 is a major regulatory change that requires us to become more sophisticated in how we manage our balance sheet to optimise for RoTE.
  • We aim to build out a range of new capabilities, including automated forecasting, modelling and sensitivity analysis, seamless data sourcing and advanced analytics. We are looking for candidates with a background in finance, treasury, risk or related functions with a passion for transforming processes and solving business problems.
  • The role suits an individual able to conceptualise, problem solve and think laterally to manage dynamic and unique issues. The individual should have a strong understanding of balance sheet management, banking products, accounting methods and external disclosures and should be fluent in reading bank financial statements. Creativity and the ability to communicate clearly are essential skills for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A support role within Group FP&A focused on transforming the process for Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) forecasting, planning and stress testing and providing actionable insights on business performance.
  • Support Basel 3.1 change delivery for Group Capital forecasting CoE team, working closely with BAU delivery and stress testing teams. Scope includes preparation of a work plan to transition current analyses and reports into new regulations, tracking and ensure completion before 1 July 2025.
  • Support the development of output floor allocation methodology for BAU Capital forecasting, corporate planning, and stress testing.
  • Assist Capital forecast & corporate planning process and related MI requirement changes.
  • Aid changes to performance management with actional insights into drivers of RWA, including risks and opportunities to budget. Support Board and MT updates on Planning as appropriate.
  • Work closely with London, Chennai, Bangalore, Poland and Singapore based Capital forecasting CoE colleagues to coordinate RWA deliverables, ad hoc requests and communication.
  • RWA analyses to support regular Board reports, Group Management Team updates, Group Performance Review (“GPR”), and Group Asset and Liability Committee (“GALCO”).
  • Deliver performance analysis on RWA to support key external reporting events including half and full year results and interim management statements.
  • Work closely with process owners in Management Reporting and Planning to ensure RWA analyses are timely, accurate and consistent with across Capital forecasting outputs.
  • Form strong relationships with internal stakeholders, both in finance and global functions. These typically include business/regional CFOs, Finance, Treasury, Risk and Regulatory Reporting.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Strong academic record at bachelor or master’s degree level in business, economics, finance, financial engineering or related field from a well-recognized institution
  • Excellent communication, power point and excel skills.
  • Proven strategic and analytical skills with a strong appetite for finding facts and offering solution
  • 5+ Years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
