1. Role Description:

As a HR and Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources and financial operations. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing diverse functions, including HR policies, financial planning, budgeting, and accounting practices, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.


2. Specific Responsibilities:

• Understanding the specificities of the road freight transport sector, including regulations, market trends, and challenges.

• Familiarity with logistics, supply chain management, and the operational aspects of freight transportation.

• Knowledge of vehicle types, load capacities, and route planning in road transport.

• Awareness of safety regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices in freight transportation.

• Understanding the impact of fuel prices, maintenance costs, and other financial factors on road transport operations.

• Keeping abreast of technological advancements in transportation management systems for efficiency improvements.

• Awareness of environmental regulations and sustainability practices related to road freight transport.

• Developing recruitment strategies to attract skilled drivers, logistics personnel, and administrative staff.

• Implementing robust training programs for drivers on safety protocols, regulations, and customer service.

• Creating HR policies addressing workforce management, performance evaluations, and career progression.

• Ensuring compliance with labor laws, wage regulations, and driver certifications required in the transport industry.

• Managing employee relations, addressing grievances, and fostering a positive work culture in a demanding sector.

• Providing support for health and safety initiatives, including mental health support for drivers.

• Overseeing financial operations, budgeting, and cost control measures within the transportation business.

• Analyzing financial data to monitor expenses, revenue streams, and profitability in road transport operations.

• Implementing efficient cost-saving strategies while maintaining service quality and compliance.

• Developing budgets for vehicle maintenance, fuel expenses, insurance, and other operational costs.

• Monitoring cash flow, managing accounts receivable/payable, and ensuring timely invoicing.

• Evaluating investment opportunities for fleet expansion, technology upgrades, or infrastructure improvements.

• Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, road safety standards, and licensing requirements.

• Implementing measures to mitigate risks associated with cargo theft, accidents, or route disruptions.

• Managing insurance policies, claims, and legal matters related to road transport operations.

• Conducting regular audits to ensure adherence to regulations and identify areas for improvement.

• Developing contingency plans for unforeseen events or emergencies impacting transportation operations.

• Collaborating with legal advisors to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and compliance issues.

• Establishing partnerships and collaborations with suppliers, warehouses, and distribution centers.

• Negotiating contracts, service level agreements, and rates with transportation vendors.

• Ensuring seamless coordination between different stakeholders in the supply chain to optimize efficiency.

• Monitoring vendor performance, service quality, and adherence to contractual terms.

• Streamlining communication channels and logistics processes for better collaboration and efficiency.

• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and optimizing supply chain logistics.

• Developing long-term strategies aligned with business goals and market demands in road freight transport.

• Analyzing market trends, competition, and identifying growth opportunities in the transportation sector.

• Implementing strategies for expanding service offerings, entering new markets, or diversifying operations.

• Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to enhance brand visibility and customer acquisition.

• Evaluating and proposing technological advancements or innovations to improve operational efficiency.

• Conducting feasibility studies for potential business expansions or new service offerings in transportation.
